Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Murphy practices primary care naturopathic medicine. Naturopathic doctors are skilled in diagnosis and treatment of disease utilizing natural therapeutics including clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and hydrotherapy. Dr. Murphy 's practice involves all patient populations, with a special interest in immune wellness, detoxification, and women’s health. Dr. Murphy can perform annual gynecology exams, physical exams and acute care. Full homeopathic intakes are available as a separate appointment.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

TCM is the ancient healing practice of China that has been approved by the National Institute of Health to effectively treat a wide array of conditions with little to no side-effects. Fine needles are inserted into points along the body's energy channels (meridians) to help the body move into balance and to control pain. Traditional Chinese Medicine incorporates the use of herbs, heat therapy, cupping and other techniques to restore the natural energy flow in the body.

Therapeutic Bodywork

The following services are offered as stand-alone treatments. Prior to going to medical school, I practiced bodywork professionally for over 2 years. These therapies, both ancient and modern, are extremely powerful and I practice them in the spirit of Metta-Loving Kindness.

Traditional Thai Massage

An ancient healing art of Thailand, performed fully clothed on a futon. Combines reflexology, applied Hatha Yoga, Sen (energy line) therapy and acupressure into a unique massage form that is deeply relaxing and therapeutic.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

A gentle hands on therapy that restores the body's vital natural rhythms through the release and nurturing of tissues that protect and serve the central nervous system.
